As haunting and hypnotizing as going through the MGS series in release order and growing more and more captivated by the fandom's fabled Venom Snake without knowing a single thing about him. No, but seriously, this album is a work of art to transport you far, far away, an idea that draws you into the abstract. quietis

Pripyat, a ghost town after Chernobyl's catastrophe, April 1986. This album takes you there without moving from your chair. It's a post-apocalyptic soundtrack; no hope, nothing but echoes of the fatal explosion, a musical narration without any color, everything is gray, death and devastation, silence trying to acquire its voice through Crosspolar's sounds. My favorite track is «Masts, Antennas, Towers», but it wouldn't be the case if the whole release isn't considered as a story. sjah83

The sort of music that is beyond time.
The sort of music that you feel more than you hear.
I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was.
Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
